Massage Testimonials

Yogi

Charlie

Charlie

A black dog using a wheelchair for mobility support.

"Yogi, our large Labernese, was diagnosed with Degenerative Myopathy.

We made the decision to add Clinical Canine Massage into Yogi's treatment as we felt it would help him relax and improve his sleep.

We were astonished by the results.

After his very first massage the improvement was amazing, and it only got better.

With the most dramatic improvement being that he started wagging his tail and was able to sit up unassisted. He had not been able to do either of these for quite some time.

Susan provided a fabulous service, taking her time with Yogi and explaining to us what she was doing. We feel that her extensive experience with animals, along with her patience, make her an excellent massage therapist."

"Susan has been treating Charlie (a Newfie) as a Hydrotherapist for 7 years, and more recently as a clinical massage therapist. Suffice to say Charlie and I trust Susan completely. She understands his health issues. We love to see Susan and Charlie absolutely loves his massage sessions! We highly recommend Susan as a caring, considerate and professional therapist"

Ella

Charlie

A Cavalier King Charles Spaniel sitting on a gray carpet.

"My 8 year old Cavalier Ella suffers with pain and stiffness in both back legs. Her gait was very stilted and she was only able to do a short walk now and again. She's been receiving massage treatment with Susan every 3 weeks fort the past few months and as a result is able to go for a short walk a few times a week, hop in and out of her bed more easily and is generally a lot happier, even enjoying a run about the garden. Ella had been used for breeding in a puppy farm before I adopted her a few years ago, so can be shy and timid with people she doesn't know. Susan was kind, gentle and patient with her, building trust at Ella's pace, and Ella is now more relaxed during massage. Surgery isn't always an option for every dog and unfortunately it isn't for Ella but I would definitely recommend Susan to anyone who wants to improve their dog's mobility and quality of life"

Lennie

Older black and white dog lying on grass with autumn leaves.

"Lennie is 14 years old. He was diagnosed with arthritis when he was just 5 years old. Susan has a wonderful rapport with Lennie. She has an incrediibly intuitive awareness of where he is feeling pain and is so gentle when she's working with him. It's a fascinating and lovely process to watch. She understands the way Lennie responds to what she is doing, and can adapt and apply what he needs.

We saw an incredible difference in him, even after the first session: where he had been limping he was walking more evenly; where he had been spending most of his time lying about being lethargic he became more active looking for toys to play with; he had also been acting a bit confused and not with it but most definitely had his "mojo" back afterwards.

Susan visits Lennie every month which is undoubtedly helping him to remain mobile and happy.

Thank you so much Susan for giving our gorgeous boy such a new lease of life!"

Monty

A fluffy, light-colored dog with a gentle expression.

"Susan was incredibly patient and gentle, knowledgeable and professional.

She instantly put my 16 year old dog at ease, and tailored the treatment to his specific needs. He was very relaxed afterwards and we noticed an ease in his movements. He was always very happy to see Susan at the door. She truly cares about her patients. Highly recommended!"

Maggie

"Susan has been amazing when it comes to our 2 year old Cocker Spaniel, Maggie. Maggie has anxiety and pain due to joint issues, and Susan has worked wonders with her, both helping Maggie physically and gaining her trust.

Susan geniunely cares and was so patient in forming a connection with Maggie, giving her space and working at a pace that Maggie was happy with. Every interaction with her has been so positive and Susan has quickly become one of Maggie's favourite people!

Each massage session has been tailored to Maggie's needs, and we have noticed a real improvement in her mobility and anxiety due to this. We are very very grateful to have found someone we can trust fully and wouldn't hesitate to recommend Susan, whether is be as an excellent massage practitioner or as a behaviourist."

"Knowing the benefits of massage for myself I was keen to find a canine therapist for my 12 year old working cocker spaniel. She had been diagnosed with hip dysplasia and when the vet examined her she was showing signs of discomfort along her lumbar area and hips. Susan sees Molly on a regular basis as part of her ongoing maintenance programme. The massage helps maintain Molly's flexibility and her joint range of motion.

There are also emotional advantages....Molly is very chilled after her sessions, often curling up for a snooze afterwards.

Susan is very knowledgable and makes me feel very comfortable to ask questions.

"I own a very active 9 year old female Border Collie, Holly, who still loves her agility classes. Recently we noticed that she was slowing down a bit and at times showed reluctanceto join in at agility. My agility trainer noted that she had some coat flicks on her back which might indicate some myofascial problems and suggested canine massage. Susan came to us after I contacted her for a home visit. Susan has a lovely calming manner and Holly settled down to enjoy her massage almost immediately on that first visit.

We saw benefits after the first session and after two further sessions she was back to full enjoyment of her agility training.

I plan to keep arranging maintenance massage sessions for Holly to keep her enjoying her best life!"
